We can perform precision milling operations on parts up to 80 x 30 x 30 inches. We have 3-, 4- and 5- axis mills.
We can perform precision cylindrical grinding, centerless grinding, thread grinding, and surface grinding in our in-house grind shop.
We can perform many types of sheet-metal forming operations, including rubber-box hydroforming, fluid forming (bladder press), stretch forming and CNC brake forming.
We offer assembly, riveting, sealing, staking and other assembly services.
We can perform wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) operations on parts up to 6″ x 10″ x 4″.
We can perform precision turning operations on parts up to 8 inches in diameter. We have lathes with live tooling and subspindles, and up to 5 axes of CNC control.
We can perform a wide array of flat pattern operations on sheet-metal. We can use a turret punch, waterjet or CNC routers to create flat patterns in the most efficient way.
Our NADCAP-approved heat treatment capabilities allow us to form sheet-metal directly out of the oven, eliminating costly straightening operations. Our drop bottom oven has a 4′ x 4′ x 4′ envelope and is supported by two age ovens.
Gundrilling (deep-hole drilling) and honing are performed in our gundrilling division, Accurate Drilling. We can perform CNC gundrilling operations up to 2 inches in diameter and up to 36 inches long.
Our Quality Management System is fully established to comply with AS9100 “Revision C” and imposed Customer and Regulatory requirements. Cox Machine, Inc. has been AS9100 Certified since 2004 and obtained “Revision C” Certification in October 2011, soon after its release.
Our Aluminum Heat Treating operation housed at our Harper Kansas facility is NADCAP Certified and has been so since being established in January 2008. We are also DPD/MBD approved to Boeing D6-51991 “Quality Assurance Standard for Digital Product Definition”.
Our Quality Assurance Department is equipped with leading-edge technology, which includes “point of use” portable CMM’s, and electronic program modules as established through our internal portal.

How do we do it?
We plan ahead during the quoting phase. This includes designing new cells, generating transition timeline charts, creating new facility layouts, or designing facility expansions when necessary. Sometimes we even run the parts. Completing these activities during the quoting phase gives us great confidence in the project.
Treating our suppliers as partners allows us to reduce cost through the entire supply chain. Through long-term agreements with our suppliers, we can acquire fixed pricing, shorter lead times, reduced minimum charges and vendor-owned inventory. We partnered with our cutting-tool manufacturer and became an Aerospace Research and Development site for new cutting products. By partnering with our lender, we have created strong financial support for growth.
We focus on designing cells around a variety of part families. The simplified cell process eliminates production bottlenecks. We have Real-time scheduling data so we can work on only what the customer needs. We level-load our cells to ensure we have capacity and our cells have little to no change-over time, allowing us to run smaller quantities and shorten the lead time.
